FIRE SAFETY AWARENESS LEVEL 1

The purpose of this course is to give the learner a detailed understanding of Fire Safety. This course is aimed at all staff, particularly new starters in any workplace, where a basic understanding of fire safety is required.

It is a requirement under fire safety legislation that all employees must receive adequate fire safety training. This training should be maintained by the company and staff should be provided with refresher courses to keep their knowledge up to date.

The programme focuses on the understanding the terminology used in fire safety as well as understanding the laws and legislation that apply to the fire safety within the workplace.

  • Understanding the main causes and effects of fires in the workplace
  • Outlining the main fire prevention measures, and how to implement these measures to effectively minimise fire risk
  • Develops general knowledge of many aspects of fire safety in the workplace
