BASIC LIFE SUPPORT TRAINING
This basic life support training course aims to help teach staff a basic knowledge of first aid – covering CPR, recovery position, bleeding, choking and shock. The course takes place over 3 hours and will teach the theoretical knowledge followed by the relevant practical assessments to improve knowledge and skill. This course will allow staff to confidently respond to minor accidents and incidents within the workplace. This training is for anyone working within the health and social care sector and can be tailored to suit any audience and is suitable for both complete novices, or those looking to refresher their basic first aid skills.
The training will be conducted by our team of expert trainers with an abundance of clinical and complex care experience and knowledge. The trainer will check understanding, involvement, and the ability of all students throughout the duration of the course. On successful completion of the course students will receive a certificate of attendance which is valid for 12 months.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
- Understand the DR ABC (Dr ABC), what it stands for and how it allows you to to perform a primary survey
- Understand what you are required to know as part of Standard 12 of the Care certificate
- Understand what to do if an adult, a child, or an infant is choking

- CPR Demonstration and practice D.R.S.A.B.C.
- Practice with manikins
